Odour in Planning

Odour issues can be some of the most subjective and contentious issues facing any Development during the planning process. Thankfully, Vale Air Quality Consulting has considerable experience is addressing these issues and are familiar with a wide variety of odour assessment methodologies and their applications.

All of our staff have completed odour sensitivity testing in line with BS EN13725:2022 and have extensive experience in undertaking site visits and completing sniff testing regimes for proposed new Developments, with a focus on the highly sensitive area of rural property amenity with respect to agricultural odour.

Moving from farm to plate, we also have considerable experience in undertaking odour risk assessments for a wide variety of commercial kitchens, from new fast food and takeaway units up to high end restaurants in sensitive city centre locations, all of which included detailed odour mitigation plans.

Finally, our expertise in dispersion modelling extends to odour assessments. Having been extensively trained on ADMS modelling software and with our experience modelling waste-water treatment works and agricultural barns we are ready to take on even the most complex and sensitive of assessments.
